It is a hidden gem in the Haute-Savoie. The historic heart of Samoëns has remained intact, and almost 1.000 years of “septimontain” culture and history can be seen. Similarly, historic churches, fountains, public gardens and traditional stone masonry architecture can be found throughout the village and make strolling through the winding medieval streets a joy and pleasure.
This village boasts plenty of small boutique shops encompassing chocolatiers, sports and clothing stores, but also chic alpine homewares, local wine, and artisanal food shops. In addition, the village hosts many fantastic restaurants and bars. There is also a traditional weekly market, which is one of the largest markets in the Haute-Savoie, and not to be missed!
Last but not least, Samoëns is the only winter sport town to be designated ‘Caisse Nationale des Monuments Historique’ and awarded ‘Ville Fleurie,’ and the prestigious “Coq d’Or” which designated the town as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
